Looking north I can see the Wells Fargo Plaza, the Chase Tower and the other high rise buildings of El Paso, Texas, neighbor to Ciudad Juárez, Mexico where I am standing. The tall buildings, a low crime rate, a minimum wage that pays more in one hour than Mexico’s does in a day – these are symbols of the United States where the dream of a decent life still exists.
During my recent monthly trips, I took a Trump piñata and asked Mexicans to pose with it and tell me what they thought about our upcoming elections. We had lots of laughs but the laughter is over now. What will Trump’s victory mean? What are the issues?
